The days of Microsoft Windows 7 are numbered. Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 7 in January of 2015, putting the very popular operating system into what’s known as the “extended support” phase. During the extended support phase, Microsoft releases security patches and bug fixes but doesn’t add any new features or functionality to the Windows 7 operating system. Once this extended support phase ends on January 14th, 2020, Windows 7 will officially be unsupported by Microsoft.
